There are many times when you become so frustrated with users you simply want to wish them away to avoid the constant sighs under your breath. There is a place in between life and death or maybe somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle called the "No Fun Zone". When users fail, backups will always prevail. However, the desire and urge to entice banishment from someone to ever use a PC is growing wildly like a raging bull staring at a rodeo clown dressed in all flavors of red.
In a sense, you do care about the well-being of the user. Sending them to a infernal pit of flames with every single poisonous snake and spider may be a bit too overbearing for your frustrated heart to endure. Therefore, you gently lay your hand on the unfortunate user's shoulder and think to yourself, "No Fun Zone". When your eyes open, the source of the problem has vanished. You unknowingly sent your client, friend, mother, brother, or some guy you knew was using Internet Explorer off to a remote location without via remote access.
Your day is actually starting to feel better as you continue your mission of system support. The ranting and raving inside your mind has subsided. Inner peace courses through your veins like midichlorians flow through a Jedi. Even so, you do feel like a bounty hunter that has at least a 500,000 credit reward for your head, but that stress is easily dealt with knowing, you saved a fellow admin, a colleague, from a 301 redirect of user error.
Please share your "No Fun Zone" moments. I want to hear from you. At the very least, issues and wishful thinking comments are welcome.
