Cisco GLC-SX-MM SFP Transceivers

Are you looking to replace Cisco GLC-SX-MM transceivers that have failed your Cisco switch or router? There are many manufacturers that produce Cisco transceivers, but you may be one of "those people" who prefer to stick with an original product. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach. However, the price of a Cisco GLC-SX-MM will vary greatly depending if you choose a compatible or original version.

Cisco GLC-SX-MM SFP Transceiver Tip

Please understand what I am about to tell about transceivers or GBICS. It's almost the same as shopping around for a light bulb. The performance variations are practically unnoticeable. What is noticeable is the amount you spent on your replacement transceivers. Yet again, people just like to stick to what is familiar. The ball is in your court in how you proceed.

Now, here is the fun part of promoting a product for the best company I have ever worked. Gencom transceivers are exclusively manufacturer-ed by Gencom that will save you that extra money to spend in other areas of your business. The quality is the same as original, but the price is more attractive.

Moving on to some useful technical information...

The Basics

The Cisco GLC-SX-MM SFP transceiver is a 1000BASE-SX SFP transceiver module for MMF, 850-nm wavelength, with a dual LC/PC connector. Normally, it operates up to 550 meters in length on regular multi-mode fiber optic link spans. This GBIC is a hot-swappable input/output module that plugs into a Gigabit Ethernet slot or port.
